The SHO Community has lost one of its earliest members, and a good friend to us here at CEG.
Don Mallinson passed away this morning, Sunday March 18th. Don had surgery in early February for a brain tumor. He had been recovering, but he fell this morning, which apparently dislodged a blood clot that they had been monitoring.
Don was a member of CEG, with the screen name dynodon. He and his son Ken joined us at Spring Zing 2008 for the track event at Waterford Hills. Don helped instruct members that day that were new to doing track events. He was a long serving president of the SHO club and often invited CEG members to join them at their national gatherings.
The family is currently making arrangements. Services will be March 31st from 11am to 1pm at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, IL.
Ken has set up a Dropbox for pictures of Don that folks would like to share. If you have any photos from the track event at SZ 2008, let me know and I'll see if Don was in any of them.
