Replaced my clutch recently and should of changed my linkages. One of the cables inside the car broke. where it connects to the shifter. The other one is fine. This is an earlier model cable where the ends inside the shifter, one with a circular flat ring for the cable end ( broken one) and a the other cable end is a metal ball. Going to bone yard. Wish I had the part numbers for a search. Can't find part number at dealer. I may also have to repair it somehow.

That said I know how to remove the cables from the bell housing and removing the console is easy. How about the rest of pulling it through?? What are my obstacle?? Thank You

I consider one of the hardest job ever on a contour. No joke.

There is a tiny hole where you need to pull fish it through, pull the surrounding exhaust heat-shielding on the underside. - Inside the car pull the center console, may have to trim/pull back some carpet there is 2 10mm bolts to unbolt the assembly. Get the trans side portion as straight as possible to help pull it through.

God speed.

Thanks, that helps. Putting it on ramps this weekend. Console fully open already. Once I have the cables out will try and find the part#s since someone out there may have them or have a specialist repair. I also have to remove the stickshift that has issues and there are no bolt heads and nuts on the underside. Feel more prepared now. Will take it slow. Thank You so much.
