probably search the TSS sensor on the trans and the MLPS sensor. IIRC they are two possibility's for shift problems. Manual Lever Position Sensor tells the computer what gear is selected. Its on top where the shift select cable goes in to the trans. TSS is Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor which tells computer transmission internal speed. It is on the far left side of transmission. It can be seen when looking from drivers wheel well.
Good thing with light flash! That means code is set and can be read by scanner. I like when car tells you where to look.

mine has started to flash 2 times this year, (has never shown up in the past) but it seems like it shifts weird while it flashes.. both times ive shut the car off and started it again and has cleared them
