Hi all,
It’s been w while since I’ve been on the forum. Since flipping my 1998 CSVT in 2015 really (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OppabErMmv8). I bought it to use for hill climbing (won the class), circle track series (won the class), and ice racing (did not win the class). The car has treated me very well. I ran it in a large 100-car Enduro race this year and last, and it’s now pretty beat up. Still runs great, and drives (although not straight due to bent rear control arm).
The car’s future is up in the air (dumbest pun of the day??). At this point, I either replace the entire rear subframe and suspension, along with a bit in the front end, or see if anyone wants it as a parts rig (I know these things are getting rarer by the day).
Here is an honest overview of the car, which has 126,xxx miles and is the original drivetrain:
Engine: Starts every time…Including on the first try after sitting for six months. Runs great & very strong, although toward the end of the Enduro it developed a slight power loss after one particular hit, which I traced to a loose-and-punky-looking spark plug wire at the corner of the car that took the hit. The car has no exhaust past the manifolds, although I did make a custom straight pipe exhaust for it that exits out the driver’s side before the left-rear wheel. Brand new radiator. All AC components gone. Battery good.
Transmission: Shifts fine for what it is. I never found this transmission to be particularly smooth, but it is as good as it was when I got it. The clutch is strong and has no issues.
Suspension: uhhh, not good. The flip bent a bunch of things under the car, and the front subframe took a direct hit from a tree. I replaced the front subframe, but nothing quite lines up right anymore. Now since the Enduro most of the rest of it is bent too. The left-rear has about a foot of toe-out. The front control arms appear straight.
Body: not a straight panel left on the car, except the roof. If sold, I intend to cut the roof off to remove the roll cage, then weld the roof back on. If this messes up your interest, we can work something out. Windshield is not cracked, and in good condition. A mouse took up residence in the heater duct, so I would not count on a sterile heater core, although all the HVAC does work. Wiring harness is complete.
Spares: full set of doors with windows, regulators, nice speakers, etc. Spare V6 engine (non-SVT) and 5 speed transmission, both worked fine when removed from car. Many wheels, although the only nice ones are the 16’ 5-spoke factory wheels seen on the right-front corner of the car in one of the pictures. They are in very good condition. Various other spare parts, such as springs/struts, a couple control arms, and I think a steering rack too. I’m pretty sure I still have all the head lights, tail lights, and marker lights too.
Many videos are on youtube of this car in action on my channel (see the video above); check them out if you care to.

Looking for around $1000 for the whole pile; less if you don’t want the spare drivetrain or factory 16” wheels. Delivery is a possibility, although it will be a challenge getting the spare drivetrain on the trailer with the car. Located in Central Vermont.
