well, after some in depth playing around.
it must have been hit from behind because the rear bumper and brackets were replaced.
i found a small wiring harness with two bulbs in the glove compartment, they are the license plate lights, they apparently didnt want to hook them back up after replacing the bumper.
also the dude told me it never had any rot, well the cab corners have some bondo on them.
but the rest of the truck is rock solid, even the inner edges of the fenders and bed are spotless.

thats what i bought it for.
thats because the paint is pretty new, it still has that body shop smell in it.
