Default I just got a terrible urge to . . .

build a twin engine contour. It's a good thing I'm broke or I might have actually tried to go down this road . . .

It would be ridiculously absurd yet undeniably cool though.

lol. I was actually semi-serious though.

Basically transplant the entire front subframe from one car into the back of another.
Granted, it would require some revisions to the suspension geometry, brakes, etc. to work well. Plus it would require a fuel cell in the trunk, and a creative solution for the radiator for the rear engine. But its doable, for sure. Oh, and as much as I'd hate to, I'd use ATX's for both, because it would make it 1000x easier to get the gears to sync up.

The hardest part I think would be welding in the structure to the rear unibody to bolt up a new subframe in the back.

Something like this:

In 1985, Car and Driver's Tech Ed., Don Sherman built this thing. John Phillips later described it as something along the lines of "more complicated than the lunar lander."

Yeah, there have been a bunch of them, the Talon, CRX, and Caddy mentioned above, I recall seeing some stuff on a Tiburon someone did as well, plus a bunch of others. The concept certainly isn't new.

I've got plenty of other projects in front of this that I've started and haven't finished yet anyway, lol. Oh well.
