You are 100% correct. IF you stop the clicp between 39-40 seconds he hits the guy with his elbow.

For those that say he wasn't out for blood...he then collided with another playing rasies his hands and hitting the next guy in the face between 3-4 seconds.

Not sure what the heck you mean with the second part of your post but if you're talking about him getting into a scrum or something after the hit, that's just how it's been for the last while.

You make a big hit dirty OR CLEAN, the recent trend's been that the guy's teammates will come after you and you have to defend yourself. I don't see what's so wrong about that (if your post was talking about that, which seems like it is)

More perspective, including that of LIambus.

I think that the intent of the suspension is to say to players "Think about what you're about to do." I have seen old-time players talking about respect, how they didn't want to hurt anybody and take away his ability to make a living, that type of thing. I think the suspension says "by no thinking of the other guy, you might have taken away his ability to do what he loves, and his career. You will understand what this means."

If it stops one incident like this from happening, it's probably worth it.

Don't get me wrong, I love good, hard checking, fast paced hockey (see, for an example, some of the Oilers-Stars series several years ago). This wasn't it.

Agreed. Liambus took a really good run at the guy and while we can debate whether or not he got the elbow/shouder/butt-end up into him or if he left the ice all day long... it was just bad judgement all around on his part IMO.

20 years ago you wouldn't see a hit like this, and if you did, both benches would've cleared and someone would've kicked Liambus's ass. Guys wouldn't put opponents into the boards or utilize the cheap shots because they knew they'd have to pay for it later on. You clean the game up by getting rid of the barbaric fighting , and the result is cheap shots and 5-stride runs at guys against the boards because there's no repercussions. Call it "vigilanteism" or whatever; the fact was that the players policed the game. Now it's being done by the league offices.

Hits are intended to rattle, knock a guy off the puck, and make a statement. A hit at that speed, on the head or any other part of the body would have resulted in a serious injury. It just so happens, he caught his head and at that speed he was going far to quick to control how he hit the guy.

The OHL had every right to suspend him, if for no other reason than to send a message that you are held accountable for your actions intentional or irresponsible and to show current and prospective players that the league is interested in the health and advancement of it's players.

I don't see any talk of Liambus being a dirty players, so I think he will get another look just not in the OHL.

Uh, hmm, well, uh, I don't know where he's not. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to assume that I couldn’t exactly not say that it is or isn’t almost partially incorrect. Oh, on the contrary. I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably do or do not know where he shouldn’t probably be, if that indeed wasn’t where he isn’t. Even if he wasn’t at where I knew he was, that’d mean I’d really have to know where he wasn't.
