Default Cylinder Head Oil Returns

Just as the description states. I read that the last produced Cougars had oil drainback holes added to the cylinder heads. Were these part of the castings or were they just machined/drilled? I'm looking at doing a rebuild and thinking that I might mod my own drainbacks.

Anyone have any pics or diagrams of the stock ones? Thoughts, suggestions... Filthy remarks?

Thanks,

Chris

I also had the same question.
If you had enough knowledge of the casting, I'm sure you could add a drain to the existing head.
Interested to hear what others may know.

If I understand correctly it is the '01+ heads that had the extra drains. But I'm just repeating some rumor I've heard. I'm also interested in this as I belive my next 3l will be a hybrid if this is true.

NO contours had this correction. It was the cougar model as stated above that had the corrected oil drains.
I've never seen the head for myself. So i can not comment whether it was casted or drilled.
My money goes on it being casted. Too much money to run the heads back through again.

Now i think about it, i think i'll have bagged take some photo's on the next cougar he works on when he does a 3L swap...actually i think he has an engine siting around right now out of a cougar.
