is the stock exhaust piping for the zetec contours 2.25 inches or 2.5 inches? i always thought it was 2.5 inches and now im reading alot about 2.25 piping on this forum. can anyone confirm which size pipes the stock zetec exhaust has, 2.5 or 2.25?
 
how would i go about puting a 2.25 muffler on a 1.75 pipe? cause 1.75 inch inlet mufflers seem to be hard to find cheap. is there something i could weld on to my stock pipe that could turn it into 2.25 or 2.5? or would a garage have something like that?
 
If you take it to a exhaust shop, they will use a reducer (1.75" to 2.25/2.5" ) and weld that into place, then put the muffler on.

For what its worth, I would go with a 2.25" inlet muffler so later you can just hack off the muffler, put an SVT exhaust on, buy an identical muffler and put them on. The diameter of an SVT exhaust is 2.25", IIRC.
