i am in need of a new car.
my tbird is gettin haggard.. an the bagged truck .. welp its not a comuter.

so i am lookin at either a svt focus.. or a svt contour.
ive been lookin into both these cars.. an i am torn straight down the middle on both of them.

any help or pro or cons would be great.

ima get a 4 door with either car.. cause thats wat i am lookin for,
an it seems they both require premium.. which is fine.

ive driven the foci';s... love em.

but i love the wat the contours look.
so like i sad im torn..

help lol

I didn't even know FSVT's came in 4-door form:help:

But if they did, it would probably toy with the balance of the car alot. I'd just go tried and true CSVT.

its actually a a five door focus...not four
but that aside,i'd get the focus svt w/the euro package

i agree. i too was torn between the FSVT and the CSVT when looking for a daily driver. i ended up with the CSVT only becuase i found mine for half the price of all the FSVTs i had looked at. i think the biggest advantage the FSVT has over the contour is going to be gas mileage. i get roughly 23-26MPG mixed city/highway. im sure the focus is much better since it is the 4cyl zetec (i get 26-30MPG mixed with my turbo zetec contour)

if your not worried about gas mileage so much then get the contour. if gas mileage is a concern then go for the focus.

Thats a tough call but ultimately its what you're looking for in a car. They're both great cars I'd suggest driving both and see which you like better. Personally I've driven both and I liked the CSVT better so thats what I bought and it was 3K cheaper!

Consider:
-Initial Costs - As mentioned, foci will probably be twice as much as a CSVT
-Initial Maintenance and repair - Contour will most likely be older then the FSVT. But either way the upkeep maintenance may be about the same depending on mileage of the FSVT or the CSVT.
-Gas cost, gas will probably inch its way up to 3.50 a gallon, Not sure what grade gas runs in the Foci, but you'll still be saving there.
-insurance costs, Contour is older and probably cheaper then the smaller, newer foci.

So if you're will to pay more for gas, I think the CSVT will be the better way to go.

How long do you actually intend to use this car for daily commuting? 1-2 years, 3-4 years? Longer? If you looking for some seriously longevity, the Contour will be showing its age (2-4 years more) vs the focus that will just be old by the time you've had your way with it.

listen to bouma, he would know. hes had a few tours .. its all up you to you though. a five door euro focus would be a nice find. they handle great, get better fuel mileage than a contour, and have more available performance parts. but theyre at least double the price of a contour and lack even more of what the contours lack, torque.. personally, i would stick with the contour.

kinda a silly question to ask here  i say get a civic

Excellent advice though. I'd say it's a matter of personal preference - test drive both and see which you like better. The FSVT will fit larger items, but I'd prefer the CSVT in every other respect.

The Contour is bigger and more safe overall than a Focus.

The Focus is likely to be newer and more reliable.

I know that an FSVT can come with heated seats, HID's, and a mice sounds system stock, but they also run a little more price wise.
i wouldnt get a focus just because it comes with mice in the sound system!

yes, if you wish to be like the other teenagers around here you could get a vtech and say its to make the car go faster lol

welp this car is gonna be driven 60 miles a day.. jsut for work.
so i am looking for somthing that is fun. an good on gas... its 3.50 plus a gal here now.. an i just have to do somthing.
plus like i said.. the bird has seen better days.

the thing i worry bout the csvt's... i see alot of people blowin them on here.. an ive read that they are prone to blowing due to oil issues or somthing.

welp i have a progect... dont need another.. jsut looking for a fun little car... not a race car.. not a super car.. jsut a fun above avaerage ya know lol.

thank for all the input yall.

here's my advice. escort ZX2.

you will become totally addicted to either car, and dump money into it. eventually, your looking for another daily driver, because you have two project cars. my CSVT was once a "daily driver" now its' a "garage queen"

and now i daily drive a SHO with some mods. now i need to get rid of the thing before i spend my life savings reviving it and making it what i want it to be. make sure your daily driver is something you will never work on. or a third gen tauus SHO. they are cool, and i would never even bother working on that V8 lol.

Thats very true also! I bought my CSVT for my Daily driver and lately I've been thinking about getting something else so I can keep the miles off my tour
