what could cause this

I have been experienceing some stumbling between 1k and 2k. when under the hood and I slowly rev the engine, I can hear a vacuum noise coming from around the EGR. If I disconnect the vacuum from the EGR, I no longer hear the "hissing" sound, and the car seems to not buck anymore..I applied vacuum to the EGR at idle, and it wants to stall the car. I am guessing this is a good thing, so I don't know why I would be hearing this hiss from the EGR, or around there.


Any suggestions to fix the problem?

The easiest thing would be to replace that vacuum line going to the EGR or just pull it off and inspect it for cracks.

would the vacuum line cause the stumbling I am experiencing if it has cracks in it?

It would cause a vacuum leak which would make the engine stumble at idle.

Replace the vacuum lines and if that doesnt work it might be time for a intake clean out.
