Land-locked. No roads in or out. Everything comes by barge, ferry, or airliner. Gotta fly to Anchorage for Denny's, Taco Bell, Burger King ...

Me thinks CRGKart44 didnt look at Scorpion8's location.
Free Denny's wouldn't be free for me as I would need to pay $2.50 to get there and back on the bus.

You forgot "bigtime". 40 miles of road before it ends, so no long drives. I get my fill of those when I travel.

What we don't have is what you do have: violent crime, car jackings, child snatchings.... we overflow with scenery, and it's too hard for the riff-raff to get here and cause trouble. So you lose alot of "civilzation", but that's also a benefit in a lot of ways.....

It's a slower lifestyle, for sure. I've lived down south (or as Alaskans say, "Outside") for 40-some years. This slow lifestyle suits me fine. But a Denny's would be nice....
