Deer 2 Intrepid 1

So my parents went to TX for about a week to visit my brother and his family, made the entire round trip (1800 miles) without incident, until they got about 5 miles from home. They hit 2 deer at the same time, on on the left and one on the right.

When dad told me $2500 I was expecting more damage.

They are both fine. That Ram head peeled off a long time ago. It was about 2 am, mom was asleep, talk about a rude awakening!

Dad actually glued the drivers side mirror back on, the only reason I can think of is so it's not banging around scratching the hell out of the paint.

I'm not really sure, I'm guessing 55-60 just before, dad hit the brakes, so maybe 40?? I forgot to ask.

This actually makes deer #3 for them this year. One in the Ranger (deer hit them more than them hitting it) luckily that only broke the grille trim piece.

Dad said there were actually 3 deer on the highway at the time, 2 left marks on the car (1 for sure dead) and 1 that didn't get hit most likely left a "deposit" on the road:laugh:

4/28/2009 9:44:24 PM Clair - There were three deer together, the first one lit mainly on the right part of the hood and took out the right mirror as he slide off and the secvond one just hit the drivers side of the car and took off that mirror, I would guess the third just left a deposit on the road!!!

Last deer I hit with my contour left it's deposit all over my door. So... I guess if the third deer left his on the road, at least you didnt get insult to injury like I did.

Always look on the bright side

I find it ironic that two deer hit a car that has such clear instructions on the hood for what to do if the car is coming at you.

I hate deer. Only hit one in my lifetime. Damn shame it was with my SE.

The only deer that I've ever hit actually hit me. I came to a complete stop and the er charged me :laugh: Broke my mirror off but that's it.
