Cool , It looks great. I've also made my intake from scratch. Here it is with the same fuel regulator..http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?57450-Zetec-Rebuild&highlight=

One thing.. Adding aluminum foil on the outside/inside of the garbage can or some heat tape(bit more expensive) would most likely help with the heat. I would imagine that can getting really hot after a while.

Maybe a little but there is soo much air going through there at speed, I don't know if it would make much difference.

Just shielding it from the radiator fan makes a night and day difference. Almost as good as having it in the fender.
