Thanks to my tax return I am now in the market for some new wheels and tires for my coug. I will be going with the widest wheel and tire combo I can get for maximum traction as well as 18" for appearance. I already spoke with my buddy that works fairly high up at discount tires here in CA. He recommended fitting a 18x8 wheel with +35 offset and a 245/35/18 tire, which sounds just fine and dandy to me. The car does have coilovers so the height is adjustable, but I do like it fairly low. What I am wondering is if I rolled my fenders and removed the splash guards if I would be able to fit any wider of a wheel or tire under there, like maybe a 8.5" wheel with a 255 on it, or maybe just the 255 on the 8" wheel, Opinions?
BTW this is the wheel I am going with as of right now, they are varrstoen 2.2.2 18x8 +35 offset around 20lbs
