are these allthe parts neccessary to upgrade to a 3.0L? just out of curiousity, what are the horsepower/torque/acceleration etc. advantages to a 3.0L vs the 2.5? also
what if i wanted to put a V8 in my contour.. are there any smallblocks that would fit?
Thanx!!

Jai, please ask your questions in a new 3L forum thread of your own after searching. That way this thread can remain a sticky full of part numbers only and not generally easy questions to answer. After searching and/or posting your questions, if you still have more questions, please feel free to PM or email me or any one of the more seasoned members.

Call an ARP dealer with those part numbers and report back. There have only been a few people to even use them that I know of...

I have found all the Fel-Pro gasket I have used to be better quality then the OEM. I added in a few measurements; I have more. I am very impressed with the Fel-pro parts. Also most of the gaskets are larger than OEM so they accomodate porting perfectly.
Sorry for the repeats as I just cut and paste.

I just came across a new part # for a 3.0L short block, NEW. The build date is from 04/01/03 and is the same part # for Sable, Taurus, Escape.
4F1Z-6009-BA List $702.55 Inet $526.91 Core $500.00
I am not sure yet if I can use a 2.5 core for that. I will have to check, but DAMN that is cheap.

I hate to clutter up this post, but..... Originally posted by DemonSVT: Spectra Premium# 1719 SVT Radiator
Are you sure about that PN? I ask because I am finding ATX and MTX radiators under this one, and no sign of it being an SVT replacment. I have ended up just buying a new radiatior from Ford since my SVT has a non-SVT radiator (has ATX cooling lines), but I thought I would bring light onto this as I don't think it's 100% correct.

Couldn't tell you to be sure.
It was just transfered off an old list posted long ago.
I've since removed it from my website quite a while ago.

If you look at the first post, the 1719 has been confirmed to be a non-SVT radiator.

This isn't a 3L specific part but should be changed when pulling the engine because it's so hard to get to. It's a fuel vapor hose and it runs from the UIM to it's connector on the firewall. It becomes very brittle over time as I've found out. It's about $20 from Bill J. It's a ribbed plastic tube and locks into one of the 2 ports on the FW. Part number is F6RZ-9K313-BC. Bill Jenkins had took a while to find this so I thought this would help.
