My car eats plug wires

OK, after a year the bucking/hesitating came back while running the 9mm Ford Motorsports Wires. There were about 15-20,000 miles on them.

So I switched to Autolite Professional Series wires and it didn't really change much. I ran them for the last 3 weeks and maybe put a few thousand miles on them. This week my car would barely run through the gears. Low rpm's were a real problem too. It would fall flat on it's face. I saved my receipt and will return or exchange them tomorrow.

Then I found a set of plug wires from a SE that I picked up last summer at the salvage yard for $12.

IT FINALLY RUNS!!! I can blast through the gears and hold WOT at low rpm's without the car stalling and bucking.

We'll see how long it lasts but this is the best it's ran in a month.

I can't figure out why my car keeps trashing wires. I just changed the plugs too (OEM Ford plugs).

Any idea's?

I had one of my new Autolite wires get a cut in the insulation from a sharp edge of the UIM. I had to buy another set to replace that one wire. Cutting the wire during install doesn't happen often, but on that particular day I was extra stoopid & careless.

I checked them all and they seemed fine. I even have some plastic wrapped over the sharp areas of the manifold.

It's been over a week now on the old SE OEM wires and it's still running great. I may just stick with them for now until I figure this out.

Well, when I got back from Korea and my car had been sitting for a year in Utah, I observed mice eating my plug wires not the car and they left little dumpling sized turds as their calling card all over my valve cover. Needless to say I was highly upset.

Well, I exchanged my plug wires for a new set and it didn't cost me anything. The sales clerk didn't understand why my wires were bad but he took them back anyway.

I'll put them on after the snow/rain storm blows over my area. Although my car is still running great so I may just wait until the sun comes out.
