Yea that's right... was trying to install a y-pipe tonight. Front bolts came off like butter. The hanger bolt as well as the rear two bolts and 3 where it connects to the flexpipe was another story all together. I swear I will never work on exhaust again until I get a lift. What is your favorite method to break loose rusty exhaust bolts? I like to kick the ratchet until they pop loose or break the bolt.

Breaking the bolt, FTW. Especially if I am not expecting it and skin my knuckles when it gives and I end up hitting something sharp.

Grinder.

For my cat-back, I had to remove the 2 bolts after the cat. They were rusted to the flange. Tried heating it and that didn't even work, so the grinder took care of it. For my 3L swap I had to remove the y-pipe before taking out the engine and the bolts that hooked up to the headers...all the bolts I could put a ratchet on and they would immediatly round out. I wound up cutting the y-pipe off with a sawsall
