Help. Koni's not resting on shelf?

We just put in a set of B+G springs with Koni struts. The strut in the rear won't rest on the shelf of the rear crossmember. Is this a problem? We can't figure out why it won't reach. The strut seems to be about 2 inches above the shelf it should sit on. Please help. :help:

I love it! Feels like its on rails. Its weird to say this but, its stiff but smooth as glass at the same time. No bounciness at all. Tight corners that I once had to swing a tad wide on now I cut w/ barely turning the wheel. Don't get me wrong the SVT handled really nice before but now its just that much better. I still have them on full soft all the way around for now.
