What's going on everyone?! There's scarcely a new post in this section! Is no one excited to have a Contour anymore? It is spring after all...time to DRIVE!!

I'd like to see all of you guys again at a meet sometime soon...and meet some of our new members! How about a large scale Northwest meet, or two...one in the Seattle area and one in Portland? Follow it with a fun run! I really miss those.

What happened to DDV, tropictour, LuckySVT, auiotour, ODC, DanCanuck, kerrychin, Qbert, Shaun G, Woogieman, GRN99SVT, Dakmis, leo, phlop and Lance? Long time no hear guys!

So what do ya say? Let's get this show on the road!

Well said. I am in the midst of getting my SVT ready for fun in the sun -- new suspension, bushings, endlinks, belts, waterpump, etc. 100K stuff. Tires and alignment, too. I used to live in Missoula, MT, and would happily join you for a cruise if I still did. Montana was a terrific place to put the hammer down...beautiful roads, just you and the car, often with little else around for miles. And Seattle is only an 8 hour drive from Missoula -- nothing by Montana standards. Alas, I am now all the way over on the east coast, and though I've done the drive cross country countless times, I think I'm stuck working for now.

I keep myself pretty busy as well. I have a V8 conversion in progress with a third gen Camaro. After that I have another Camaro to replace the V6 in. After that I have a motor swap to complete on my El Camino. Those are just the car projects, completely aside from all the upkeep stuff I need to do.

I work on computers for my job, so that makes for all kinds of fun in my off time. I'm constantly getting calls for tech support. I swear one day I'm going to turn into Foamy...or that cool tech support guy, "Have you restarted your computer sir?"

Additionally I fix up and sell vintage stereo equipment on eBay. I'm actually listening to Thelonious Monk on reel to reel right now. It's a beautiful thing!

By far my favorite thing to do is drive! I'm driving to Spokane this coming weekend to visit my brother for Easter. I'll most likely drive the SVT, so if anyone wants to do a meet and/or fun run on Friday evening, that's what I'm up to. I'll be returning Sunday eve, but I doubt anyone will want to come out then as it's a holiday.

I'd really like to get this meet thing going. When is good for you guys?

I'm out in cheney.. but I really wouldn't mind a drive to seattle or portland to a meet.. I have three day weekends all quarter long. man I love college.. I guess we just need a leader to set something up? with this nice weather coming it would be cool to meet in a park and do the bbq thing.. maybe to soon for that..

People on the focus forums were thinking of meeting at Golden Gardens in Seattle... no confirmed date or time yet though.... seeing as I work for a catering company i can grab the broiler and set it up so that grilling can be done  okie dokie...

The MX6ers are also having a get together on may 19th in vancouver park wa. That could be fun see what there 2.5's could do against the Duratec's. I have both 2.5's. The MX6 is quite a bit faster then the tour.

Mike: A meet and/or a drive? I'm VERY interested. I know I'm already busy the weekend of 4/27-4/29. With enough lead time and $$ luck on a file or two, (your sister has an OK claim with an arbitration date in early May) MAYBE I could even swing a car weekend up around Puget Sound. I'd bet there are at least a couple of us down around Portland that may be open to go North or meet half way (a drive to Mt. St. Helens?).

So when do we get to race each other at the PIR drags? My slow shifts and crappy launches give you a good chance to beat me, but we could ask Groovenerd to take some shots of us to submit for a 2008 CEG calendar.

And how's that clutch working for you? That's a 1 and not a 1+, right?

PS -- Pat sold his 2003 Cobra, muttering something about college tuition for his daughter. Driving that monster in the rain was depressing him too, being unable to jump on it.

Seems like kind of a stupid weekend to have it but Subiefest 2 is this weekend in Portland. Maybe I'll get some prize for longest trip since I still have the MI plate on my car.. Shhhh.. nobody tell.

And i'm up for a drive any time. I wanna hit some serious mountain pass action when the weather turns nice.

Barge: Since you have all wheel, screw good weather, you should enjoy sloppy passes and muddy dirt roads. Speaking of Subies, mud and dirt roads, ask Groovenerd about the Oregon Trail Rally races in the coast range west of Portland he's attended (or even been a course official for?) although Subiefest would be a good event at which to hear more about them.

My WRX prefers to remain firmly planted on cement or asphalt. Costs to much to be running into ditches and trees.

Well, I've changed my plans and am NOT going to Spokane this weekend. I'm pretty much tied down with my kids on Sunday, but I could do something Sat!

PDX...definitely interested in some competition at the track. It's very difficult not to embarass all these ricers running around here...trying to stay out of trouble. Maybe we could hit the drags Friday night and drive up to Mt St Helens on Sat...or Mt Rainier...or the coast? That would be fun!

Hopefully I can get my car up and running again in the next couple of weeks. My new A/C accumulator just came in today, so I think I have everything I need now -- except some time! If it's not done before we have a PIR meet, I need to do a few drag runs with my XR2 anyway. :D

I'm up for a drag meet sometime, as well as a day-drive kinda thing. Getting together with some Focus (or other car) people would be cool too. They're saying it's supposed to be in the mid-seventies here on Friday! How does May or June look for everyone, for doing a day-drive? Maybe if we plan it far enough in advance, everyone can arrange their schedules around it. Of course, impromptu week-or-less notice meets can be fun too! (Although attendance may suffer somewhat...)

That sucks about Pat having to sell his Cobra.

The Oregon Trail Rally is April 20-22 in Portland (Fri. night) and in the forests west of Portland (Sat./Sun.) Free spectating! www.oregontrailrally.com fo' mo' info.

Mike, did you mean this Friday night and Saturday, 4/6 and 4/7? I may have out of town relatives dropping in (my step grandson's 1st birthday's on Saturday) but I can ask the little guy if he likes racing or mountain drives, maybe he will buzz his lips/make car noises.

Marty, you'd risk your stock diff doing a few runs? Then again, Grn99SVT's diff survived his drag runs last summer.

Barge, that Subiefest will be promoting that Oregon Trail Rally in a HUGE way. And from Marty's link I see that OTR's tech inspection allows spectators this year while being held at RalliTEK, a Portland speedshop. While that shop is heavily into Subies, they did some suspension work on my CSVT and tried talking me into having them fabricate a turbo install for it (But the Oregon lottery did not hold up its end of that deal).

And about Pat selling his Cobra...he bought a v-tec'd Acura sedan. He's not just gone from racer to ricer, it has an automatic and his family can drive it.

I've been lurking and posting every now and then. I was busy all last summer with a forced renovation on the house, due to a living room flood caused by a broken hot water line.

I STILL HAVE THAT SPOON OF YOURS!!!
