Fine. I'll tell the damn story. Some might remember Crispy. Eurotour and I bought it for like $400. We sold the gefx for more than that. We parted out the big items right off the bat to break even. Maybe before or during this time Mike's shift tower bolt sheared off and fell into the trans. of his silver car. He found a new MTX on fordcontour.org. It was a fully built HMS trans. Well, the guy said Mike could have the car with it for an extra $300. The trans was like $1400 w/ Spec FW and clutch. The guy spun a bearing and thought it was the trans. Got the trans in and realized it was the engine. He was done with the car and wanted it gone. So off to MD to get the car. The drivetrain was already pulled and all the engine pieces were in the trunk minus the block I think. Might even have that. So we pulled the engine out of Crispy and dropped it into the black car. So for about $700 Mike and I had an entire car. We didn't even inspect the clutch to see it's condition. I know it's original with over 100k. Both cars have ver close mileage. I have a little more knowledge about swaps than Mike so I was only working on the car when I felt like it since I was just doing it for fun. Didn't get any $. Well, the car sat about 8 months w/o much work and his parents were very sick of looking at it. I finally hooked 90% of everything back up in the engine bay that was needed for the car to run. We tried to start it and we weren't getting anywhere. We didn't spend a lot of time on it. Had a friend that was going to come over with a Star tester that w/e. Steeda bought an XR4ti in ok shape and Mike thought it would be more fun to play with since we know how to mod Contours. He traded Steeda cars. Part of it was Mike just sick of looking at the Tour & his parents giving him a deadline to have the car out. They don't live in hicksville so it looked kinda ghetto. Steeda figured out it was the clutch switch and got it going. Car still needed, brakes, exhaust, wheels, tires, sunroof motor, jack covers, radio, etc etc when Steeda got it. In MI we are able to find this stuff pretty cheaply so we have an advantage. This was by no means a "turn key" car when he got it. You had to know what you were doing.
