I thought 95s were the only ones with rod linkage? If it is cable, then check the cable ends... if not then yeah I imagine it would be the shift fork.
I guess that depends on what's better. If everything else is good in it, then replacing the shift fork could be fine, but it would suck to put it back in and have to pull it out not too far down the road when something else goes out in it. So probably best to replace all the things that wear inside it or put a new one/already rebuilt one in.
