Side Exhaust - Doable???

I've had a thought for a while and I thought I might bring it to y'alls attention and tell me what you think....

Has anyone ever tried to create a SIDE exhaust for the SVT Contour?? I mean the exhaust routes right along the Driver's side and those pesky Jack-point access notches are perfectly placed and sized for the exit point of an Exhaust Tip. The only concern I'd have is that the heat may get to the plastic Side-Skirts, but an Intercooled Tip could resolve that.

Any thoughts???

hector did it for a short time I believe. I have pics saved on my laptop at home though. I'm pretty sure it's not legal since the jack cover is right below the door and would be pointing at people's legs.

Ok, might look great and all from the side, but ummm are you forgetting the SVT bumper is notched for the exhaust tips?

Yeah I know. I was also thinking of fabing a rear diffuser similar to what was on the Saleen Contour Concept. It's just an idea for now...... but we'll see.

It was done on a 95 SE about eleventy billion years ago.

I did a search through the forum to see if there was mention of it and there was none. Just thought I'd ask.

Elite-ist much??

If You Want ToDo Something Different, Delete The The Cat And Run A 90° Bend After The Second Precat then Run Straight Pipe Right Out The Side Of The Driverside Front Bumper. Ya That Will Show Them. you'll have to drill a big hole in the bumper but hey custom doesn't come in a box now does it ?

Dude you don't need to drill a hole just take out the fogs and mount them on the A-pillars. When you start up on cold mornings you get the wind tunnel effect.

LOL... Man, screw you guys! Can't a newbie ask a simple question and not get SLAMMED.

How bout this... a Lake Pipe Y comming out the side. No one gets burned ankles, no need to mod the rear bumper, and you can just remove the cover for track/dyno days.

Someone routed the exhaust to a hole on the side of the back bumper. I thought that looked pretty cool
