A short time ago, I asked if anyone was familiar with the Ultra Linear brand of subs. I received little response as they are not a "mainstream" product.
I am here to say, they were suprisingly well, especially for a purchase price of $1 a piece.
I purchase the 12" sub (UL122W) and mounted in a sealed 1.25 cubic foot enclose made of 5/8" MDF. Powered by 250 W rms. The dual voice coils allowed me to wire it at 2 ohms.
The bass is very tight and clean. The cones looked cheap and "plasticy" but provide transparent natural sounds.
For anyone looking for an affordable intermediate system - I highly recommend these.
PS. - I also upgraded my front door speakers to Infinity Reference 5x7s. I didn't know I was missing so much. I swear I have been missing 1/3 of all the music I listen to. I have always like Polk and Infinity. Now I am a die hard fan!
