hmm running lights?

So a buddy of mine at work just got a Ford Contour GL '96 :). He is now part of the family! I'm trying to get him to join CEG but he knows next to nothing about cars whatsoever and is reluctant. Not to mention he is as dumb as a brick... But anyways, his car slightly interested me when he started it up the other day and put it in drive. Running lights! I also have a '96 GL, and I was unaware that this trim level would be set up for running lights? I have never seen this before and I couldn't find anything by searching so I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of this? TIA even if it is a stupid question :)
 
are you talking about DRL's? if so all you need to do is add a relay if you have the wiring in the car ...I think its an option but standard on canadian cars ...

like added mentioned above, is it a canadian car, they did come standard with daytime running lights. have them look at the white vin sticker on the drivers door or door jamb and see if there is a canadian maple leaf on there, i believe they did that for canadian vehicles. go sensators! eh!
 
Haha at least you're not gonna bash me :). SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH lol. He's also got a spoiler :(. I'm so jealous haha. However, he needs new front suspension hehehe. He looks like one of those Civic's that have half the suspension removed to get it lowered like they do in the city LOLZ.

there is a chance but that is not always a way to tell, many here have added the drl relay like I did to my car above, also I think it was an option here in the US one could add ... I know both my cars have drls now as they both had the wiring for it. I think my parents contours do also but i would have to look
