how much for a rebuild?

AWSOME! thats what i needed to hear, i posted in newcougar.org to find some background info on his work but i guess you guys can tell me that.

random 3L question.

does the exhaust note of a 3L sound alot different? because i remember my 3L taurus sounded rasp as all hell w/o mufflers (sounded like a v8 stang at idle till 1500rpms then it sounded like a broke ass crx above that).

i wonder because im putting on a test pipe, straight pipes and magnaflow resonator....

Yes it will rasp. I assume you are putting headers on it also....

Ive got 3.0 MSDS headers > Sho shop ypipe (gutted) > Trubendz mangnaflow resonated... Its stupid loud, and not smooth at all. I need to find a cat pipe or just get around to installing the turbo.

I bought a used engine with 44,000 miles on it from some company in New York. I live here in Las Vegas, NV. The price was about $1000 shipped. That was for a SVT engine. A buddy of mine put it in for $600.

headers are ALWAYS a good investment if you plan on pulling your motor anyway! :)

Like I just said in the PM I sent you... Get the XCAL2 after I do the swap...you can run the car fine for a while with no problems, as many people do already, and then get the XCAL2 with a basic 3L tune, datalog with the XCAl to find out how its running, then send the info back to the place you got the tune, and then get the upgraded tune to help the car run even better...

I highly suggest going to: http://www.nautilusperformance.com/index.html
for the Xcal2!!

Get back to me with some more info about what i told you to get, then we can figure out when to get the car here...
