whats up, anybodyin the phoenix area up to meet somewere, sometime and trade some knowledge and wisdom. :p

Hey... it's the red CSVT!!

There aren't that many Contour enthusiasts left around here... so we usually meet up with the Focus & Cougar guys. Rodewaryer ususally does a good job of crossposting their meets here.

I think the next meet is a mountain run on Oct 13-14. It'll be overnight camping, but I'll be going up either later Friday night or very early Saturday morning.

I could be up for a meet as well, but dont look for any real knowledge on the car. I've had mine for 6 months, and havent really done much to it.

Tucson here

Tucson here

I'm from Phoenix, going to school at UA in Tucson. I have a white 96 GL that looks sorta like an SE (at least outside heh). Im always looking for an early SE to eventually do the 3L swap with.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi

alright cool, maybe sometime this weekend we can meet up somewere any idea's..

and morid, the way you said hey is the red csvt.. do you mean you have seen a red csvt around. cause i had a friend with a 98.5 red csvt. its no longer living though as of saterday

I have never seen a red one in person before... and didn't know there were any left around here. The reason I said it like that was one of the focus guys said he saw one last friday around Riggs and Lindsey and figured you must be him. What happened to your friends car?

he got into a accident and it got totaled, front and back. that must have been him cause it happen late friday night, maybe saterday morning... i just picked mine up saterday afternoon.

well with the fate of your friends' car, I'd say Phoenix isn't the place for T-Red CSVT's as mine was totalled as well. I hope your luck is a little better though.

Welcome aboard, and if your friend still has some picking rights to his old car tell him to grab me the Drivers side skirt.

my ride is stock for now , I need to graduate and start working full time before I start dumping money, so it's just maintanence for now.

lol yeah, i hope so too cause there is a couple parts i might want to take, i would like that tranny and fix it up nice and well if its still in tact....

anybody want to roll down to deer valley airport tonight, im working grave yard. let me know. 7th ave and deer valley road

Ok, stupid question. Where's a list of members, preferably by city? I'm seeing at least 7 of you guys just in this post about Az and I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg.

We had some pretty good fun on the last run, with 3 silver CSVT's along, putting the Focus attendance to shame.

The roads were absolutely amazing.

Those roads look like they were really fun! I wish I could have made it.

I'm still having braking issues... as well as performance issues. I think I may have narrowed my performance issue down to a failing injector... but I'm not sure yet. The brakes have me baffled.... and I'm almost about to just start replacing parts.

Since the "location" field is free text, it's not really a perfect way to find other AZ people... but it's pretty much the only way. Click "Members List", "Search Members", "Advanced Search". Entering "AZ" in the location field seems to have brought most of us up, but also brings up some non-AZ people.

I think I already know the answer to my question, but what brake issue(s)?

If I can find some time I'll give that search a try.

What's the proper name for the metallic red CSVT color? I find myself partial to the metallic reds.......I know the green's supposed to be rare, but i'd have red thank you very much.

The red is "[SIZE=-1]Toreador Red".

About my brake issues.... During normal driving, I have pedal resistance, and after a little bit, the pedal gives and the brakes feel more normal. I'm also not able to brake hard enough to engage the ABS (which should be easy with my new setup). This problem also existed prior to my brake upgrades.

I got really concerned at the last autocross, where I had absolutely no brakes at the high speed (~50mph) finish and had to drop out of the event. It really seems like it's vacuum related, but everything checks out. So far I've replaced the booster line (with check valve) and a new booster gromet, but that didn't do anything. I've also bled the entire system 4 times. Next, I'm going to try bleeding the master. If that doesn't do anything, then I'm wanting to run a vacuum gauge while I'm driving... since my prior tests were just in my garage. My guess would be that the booster somehow is leaking during driving, but works perfectly idling in my garage.
