Hey guys, I've got a buddy that lives in the Lincoln Park area, and needs a trusted mechanic. He's got a POS minivan, and he thinks he broke/bent a tie rod. Anyone know of a TRUSTED mechanic in the area? Thanks in advance!

Most people in that area don't because of very limited garage space being that close to the city. And most of the folks that can afford garage space typically dont do anything to their cars besides add gas. Hopefully someone from a little further out here in the burbs will chime in.

And so that my post is worth something...Greg and Vince at the Meineke on Eola Road in Aurora; zip 60504 are good guys.

I thought I had heard of some people talking about living in the Lincoln Park area. He just started working for Playboy a couple of weeks ago, so he usually just uses public transportation. But he wants to come back into town here in Indiana, and needs to get his hoopty driveable.

ShogoFast, does Meineke do suspension work like that?

Let me ask my best friend if she or her brother knows anybody. They lived in Lincoln Park for years. She and her husband live in Wrigleyville now. I may not hear right away...

Y2K,

Its not their typical business but they do have all necessary tools and knowhow. They were clients of mine when I worked at X Bank. They have helped me with odds and ends I couldn't do myself as well as various services for other bank employees. Their bread and butter is the typical oil changes, break jobs, and tune ups. But, I have seen them swap heads on a blown 86 5.0 Mustang, custom exhaust on another mustang, 06 Gto exhaust, ect. They are good guys and honest about what their parts costs and labor will be. Never any surprises when I have worked with them.

you can tell him to go to "Technical Tune-up" on lincoln ave at addison. its about a block north of addisn on lincoln right after the train tracks. Ask for Eliot because he is the owner and tell him you were sent by Phil from Arrow Uniform Rental. He will know and treat you right.

Yeah, tell him it's the guy that drops off one shirt once a week he'll know!!!
