New tools:
Lincoln Pro Mig and Hitachi abrasive chop saw
Those of course compliment the necessary (but already owned) assortment of saws, grinders, shears, squares, magnets, etc. that I have collected over the years.
And my first project:
Tired of running bead on scrap, and tired of being hunched over on the garage floor or driveway (can't use the workbench, too flammable
) so I decided to build a portable welding table (just angle iron, casters, and a few nuts). I'm going to have someone cut the sheets for the table top and shelf as I'll be using thicker metal and I don't feel like doing it is a cutting wheel or sawzall (I need a torch!).
After all these years of wanting to learn, I will say I find welding/metal work extremely satisfying. Nothing like turning a bunch of angle iron into a nice mobile welding station. And flying sparks looks cooler than sawdust!
