well a new svt onwer here, a 98.5 silver frost all orignal 4702 of 6535
i have hed the car for 1 1/2 - 2 months and love it, its got 127.xxx and looks like it was well taken care of.
but i do have a question about the oil.
im not sure whats in the motor and how long its been there, when i got the car he said it had just been changed but not sure with what (one of those jiffy lube guys)
so the question is with the milage is it to late to switch to a synthetic, i dont want to cause any leaks.
and today i think the starter is going out or shorting out, when i turn off the car after a longer drive the car wont start-if i wiggle some wired near the starter the car will start ??

things i have already done:

completely detailed
plugs - wires
fuel filter
2 bottles of chevron fuel system cleaner
msds y-pipe
full bolra
bat springs (waiting on the shocks)
sparco pedels w/ dead pedal
cougar shift knob
b-m short shifter on order
replaced (contour) with a clock on dash
pre-sail panels
clear corners

any advice on the car would greatly help
thanks guys

Congratulations on the new purchase. Synthetic or conventional oil is fine. Just change it now if you don't know when it was previously changed. Also change the oil filter (Purolator is pretty good).

As for the starter issue, it may well be a loose wiring connection. Check wiring from starter to battery first before changing the starter out.

Normally I would say "Search and Ye shall find", but the search function is very limited unless you can log onto the old forums. Does the car crank but not start? Does it crank very harsh (high-pitched grinding)? need more information. Be very detailed and descriptive. I have gone through just about every no-start condition in the books.

well it happens only after i have driven the car somewhere, after that there is nothing no noise anywhere-but there is power inside the car.
so i figured the starter is getting hot and just wont start

thanks for the replys

you know i really wasnt listening for the pump.
i was hearing something coming from the engine bay,but only can hear it when the hood is up.
its hard to describe-like sonething shorting out ????

I say as long as you keep chaning the oil on time you should be fine no matter what kind it is. Good luck and congrats!! Post pics.

Hi! my post got edited because I'm not smart enough to follow the rules!

There always Valvoline High Millage full synthetic. If you think you need a starter PM me. I have 2 off SVT's with less than 50K on them.
