OK, so maybe I'm being a bit of a post whore, but what can I say, I have a car worth taking pics of and I finally got a digital camera to use. So on with the story. Went into the dealership where I work today, my day off, to replace the lower control arm and wheel bearing on the right side and found an empty spot to park here, by an Kenne Brown SVT Cobra...
Fixed what was broken and decided I had to see what these 18's look like, so I put them on and then decided to Knauberize it. Went over to our prep department and started peeling, then one of the guys went and got a tool the body shop uses for removing pinstriping, some 3M wheel thing, worked like a dream taking the tape residue off, had it all gone in 10 minutes or less, some clean up and I had this
Went to the drivers side, peeled of the ding guards and started removing the tape residue with that wheel thing and what do I find? to my horror...
Sometime in it's past this thing was repainted, and rather porrly I think. So I suck it up and move on to the rear door, what can I do right? Bust out the wheel and things get worse.
That was barely touching it, went straight through the paint, after causing NO issue on the other 3 doors. Luckily I bought some touch up paint yesterday so I could at least make it black and not so obvious.
So that was today. I also put my evo style hood on yesterday, so to make myself feel better I went and took some pics of the car with the 18's and the nice hood and stuff. I didn't clean it up real nice though. So, after 3 days of ownership, here's what it looks like tonight.
If you've made it this far, congratulations, you're patient.
