Hi!
Since this is my first post here, maybe I should introduce myself. I'm basically a crazy swede building a Westfield SEiW (modernized Lotus Seven) with a Duratec V6 2.5 and a Honda S2000 gearbox. I also have a daily driver 1997 Mondeo V6 with a few minor mods. (Slightly lower and stiffer springs, uprated shocks, K&N drop-in replacement air filter, stainless 2.5" full flow exhaust.)
Anyway, here's the problem I'm having right now: I've managed to spin a rod bearing in the Westfield V6 engine. (Strangely #5, standing still, at low revs... Probably due to prior damage and/or the engine sitting too long without oil.) No damage to the crank or anything. I did find a supplier of uprated bearings nearby (Clevite and others), and ordering Clevite 77s from the US is also an option. No problem so far.
However, it seems impossible to find new rod bolts...! (These are torque-to-yield on all revisions, right? This is a 2.5L from a 1999 Cougar ATX.)
Ford around here does not sell any parts at all for this engine, except for new blocks. They don't even recognize the part no. (F3LY-6214-A?) No luck with Motorcraft in the US either. All I've found so far is complete Ford rods (which I apparently can't even order, as I'm not in the US) and various expensive, overkill racing rods (I won't be needing more than some 400 bhp in a 600 kg car just yet ;-)) - no bolts; Ford or others.
Does ARP or any others make bolts that would fit the original rods? Can I actually order a set of Ford bolts anywhere?
