Car stalls shifting into neutral when moving

As the title says, my SVT (~45k miles) stalls when shifting into neutral when moving. For example, if I'm coming off a highway and approaching a red light, it will stall if I put it into neutral. Instead, I have to blip the throttle or keep the car in gear until revs are very low.

I have changed the IAC to no avail. I've also cleaned the MAF and filter. Any other ideas? Perhaps something to do with the EGR?

(Please excuse if this has been discussed before but EGR was too short to search)

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my 98 mystique. Mine persisted for a while but I ran injector cleaner through the fuel system about once a month for about 3 or 4 months and then I took apart and cleaned my throttle body, upper intake manifold, and cleaned the lower intake manifold to the best I could without removing it. I haven't had a stall since then. Hope that helps.

mine started today 122k miles i just cleaned the air filter and throttle body acouple weeks ago
i just rev the dog crap out of it and it quits for a while

The throttle body should always be cleaned at the same time the IAC is cleaned or replaced. It could be that simple.

You may also have a hard stop idle adjustment that is too low if someone has been messing with it. The throttle position sensor is also a possibility, but somewhat remote.

Thanks all!

I cleaned the TB and sprayed down the MAF with tuner wire cleaner again. I also cleaned the EGR with some brake cleaner (though not sure how good of a job I did - may end-up replacing altogether since there were some awful deposits in there). Nevertheless, this combination has really helped. Over a 100 mile local/highway drive from ocean level into the mountains, stalled only once (coming to a stop at high altitude) - which is the best in a long time - so I'm on my way out to get some injector cleaner as well. Keeping optimistic, will let you know how it goes. In the mean time, feel free to keep the suggestions coming!
