Just throwing this out there... I got these sidemarkers: http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=15020

And I was wondering if someone knows how to wire them up correctly, because i don't know where to connect everything. It would problably take too long to actually do it at the meet this Saturday, but if someone could at least point out where to hook everything up too, that would be AWESOME. thanks!

i can do it at the meet if ya like. just bring wire and connectors and ill bring my tool. shouldnt take long at all. how do u want them wired up?? blinker/sidemarker

I am going to say since they are LED's and have three wires they are only going to wire up one way ... only standard incodecant bulbs can be wired up to work as running and turn signals

Umm.. I wouldn't mind them set up to blink, but whichever one would be easier for ya. When you say "wire and connectors" does that just mean bring the sidemarkers? haha, or do I need to bring extra wire or something.

Yeah they do have 3 wires. two 12V (red and yellow) and a ground (black). I just don't know how to find out where to get 12V from.

They did come with "instructions", but they just said hook red up to a 12V power source, black to ground, and yellow to 12V power source.

well i would think hooking them to the parking light wires would be correct. dont see why we have 2 power wires?? unless one is for on and the other is for blink. like when hooking to parking lights.

how much wire do you have off of the markers??

ill get connectors. i find them easier then using a sodering iron. plus easier to take apart.

ill be doing the parking light mod while im there also i bleive

he means 3m splice connectors. you would connect them to the parking lights in the headlamp. ground to ground and one 12v to the running lights and one to the turn signal I would think.

what you can do is test it by touching the wires to your battery to make it work and figure out how you want it wired up.

personally I like having the running light/turn signal, both my car are now setup this way

I am definitely NOT an expert on this, but if I had to venture a guess I would say the red is for constant power, black is for ground, and yellow is for blink. Just a guess...

Well nevermind putting my side markers on :( i'm not bringing my car anymore. This morning my car was about to get towed, but I got him to stop and had to pay $50 bucks to get it off the tow truck. I went in to take the e-brake off, so it will come off the rest of the way, and we somehow completely missed the fact that there was a street sign in the way. Car rolled back, and almost took my door off... but the door bends 180 degrees now. With that messed up, and still running the risk of driving with expired inspection (i hear state poopers are annal about inspection and will get your car towed on the spot) my mechanic said I should defidently not drive it anywhere until we get everything straightened out.

FWIW, my LED sidemarkers had two wires. Ground and Power. Ran the power to the 12V blinker signal on the turn signal harness.

What a crappy day :( .
