absolutely not. Ask people who put a spoiler on their car that didn't come with one for the factory, the struts will not hold the trunk lid up. Ask MattR and hotdimmes...

ok lets clearify, the size/mounting of the trunk lid struts is the same but the force from the struts, ie how much weight it will hold is different.

OK I checked the pic of yout SVT and the reason it felt the same to you is, you have the lip spoiler not the wing spoiler. If you did you'd know.

Like BrApple said, there is definately a difference.

I was just joking around. hotdimmes was at my house the other day.

My trunk struts are actually the spoiler trunk struts brand new from Ford this summer. I only have a little lip spoiler on there now, so these struts are strong as hell.

OK that works for me, but folks come here looking for help and info. Then someone posts the wrong stuff and if one doesn't know better may just grab the wrong part. You don't know if they read more before getting the part. Your BS could be the last thing they see on the way out the door to the store, and you don't want to change those twice in a week.

Well shame on them for looking at one post and basing a decision on it. I've seen plenty of posts that weren't people just joking but actually trying to seriously provide info that was COMPLETELY wrong. I make it a point to research thoroughly before I go out and spend my money. This isn't an official ford site so there is bound to be some bad info somewhere but if you search enough, you'll end up seeing a pattern of correct info through all the "BS" posts. Hell, even ford and retailers like napa have old or incorrect info!

I agree, and personally I have no problem with the joking around that's just part of the fun. However if you are then a jk at the end or something so someone doesn't try to put creedance to it. Like you, I check everything several times before spending money you can bet on that.

Just because this isn't an official ford site doesn't mean that someone ought to post known bad info. As much as we mess around with these cars we, as a community, ought to be way ahead of anything ford or napa has on them ... Then again I'm sure we all know that some people post just because they have fingers..... lol
