I'm debating whether or not to purchase a B&M short throw shifter for my car. In my last car I got a 40% reduction short throw and it made it so notchy, it was really only nice when I was flooring it and shifting through all the gears real fast, but I didn't like it for normal driving. Just wondering how the B&M changes the driving/shifting experience, does it make it harder to shift, more consistent, etc.?

my shifter is very notchy and i hate it! but i think mine is a cheap ebay short shifter, so i dont know about B&M.

id probably say keep oem though, unless your racing or just sick of bigger throws.

get a short throw. A b&m one's perfect. i purchased my car with one. i just gatta find out which one it is. Anyway, u'll get used to the notchy feel in a day or two. After driving a stock svt recently, i swore never to go back. it does make it slightly harder to shift. dont worry, u'll feel like nascar driver ;)

Ive got the B&M in mine CSVT. one word. AMAZING! You have much quicker shifts and feels like it was ment for the car. plus it looks better and u dont bust your knuckle on the headunit everytime you shift into 3rd gear like u do with the stock one lol. Any way deffintly worth the money IMHO

Right after I got my car, I tried doing some powershifting - I shifted into third pretty damn hard with an open palm with the shifter in the middle of my hand. I hit the deck soo hard I though I broke my finger, or the deck or both!

i would say if your shifter is notchy with a short shifter there i something else going on.

With the Steeda shifter my shifters are firm and tight. I tried the steeda hotdimmes put in his car and it was even smoother then my car and he felt it was notchy. I do believe his car was dealer maintained and the Ford Honey in it for some time

I've been running Royal Purple Syncromax since a few months after buying it, about 30K ago. I think it feels a little better after aircougar replaced my shift cable bushing thing with one that actually had "bushing" on it. We also center adjusted it so it doesn't have that metallic thwack shifting into 2nd anymore.
