New 3L option? 230hp

I know its not a Jag 3.0L, but M!key sent his old pre 98 tour to Terry Haines back in 2003 to get a full LS 3.0L. I can't remember the details as to why it didn't happen, but I think I think it had something to do with the heads/valvetrain.

from what i understand they are the same so i guess that answers my question well enough. thank you.

didn't the LS engine has casting problems that tuned them away from the project?

also doesn't the Jag 3L have VVT? that would cause problems with a swap. plus the 3L didn't have a mtx option so that could have also been an issue?

on the jag there was an mtx option however the LS there was not but they are supposed to be the same engine using the same heads. i dont know if the jags have vvt or not but they use the same heads as the mazdas. the non roller lifters(whatever we have)

The Lincoln LS did indeed have a manual trans option for the V6. They didn't sell many though. It is a 5 speed Gtrag. It is also a north / south configuration with rear wheel drive so I don't know how that would help.

The Jag Xtype also had a manual trans option on both the 2.5 and 3.0.

No, the Mazda6 has RFF (roller finger follower) heads. Mazda6 and Fusion 3.0L Duratec have VCT. All other RFF Duratecs (Mondeo, Contour, Cougar, MPV, Escape, Tribute, Taurus) do not have VCT.

The Lincoln LS & Jag have DAMB (Direct Acting Mechanical Bucket) heads. All Jag and 2003+ Lincoln LS Duratec have VCT. 2000-2002 Lincoln LS did not have VCT.

you sir are right, the Lincoln LS did have a manual tranny in the V6 like the 1st year only in 2000, and in 2001 they dropped the manual tranny from the LS, cause the manual did not sell as well as they figured it would, so today a manual V6 LS is pretty hard to find
