clear corners on pre-98

you can get the mondeo markers but you will need to make up the sapce in teh fender since they are smaller ...

ok. well i got the clear part off the back piece and well i shud have looked at that pic a little closer. the orange reflector doesnt come out. it is part of the clear casing. if u look closely at the pic u notice the entire clear piece that goes around the orange reflector was cut out.. which is not a bad idea. but when i was trying to get the reflector out i put it in the oven to try and warm it up and i melted the entire light:cry: now i need a new one.

Lost I wish I would have got the info to you before you started. The first thing you should do is go to the salvage yard and buy corners to work on. This is a time consuming process. You want to get a extra set of lights so you can leave the ones in your car in and continue to drive while you work on the other set. The oven method will not work for our corners. The only way to get the reflector out is to grind it out most people use a dremel. Once you grind the reflector down leave a thin layer of the reflector. Don't go down very far or you will get into the clear lens and that will also ruin the light. Once you have the thin layer of reflector then you start to sand, sand until the reflector is removed. I can't remember what grit sand paper I used but get the sand paper package that has some diffrent grit sand paper in it and experiment. Once all the orange is removed there will be some scratches on the clear from the sand paper. Now you start to wet sand once your satified with the result of the wet sanding then you go out and buy a good plastic polish and polish the inside of the lens. Remember be patient and take your time. I am going to put together a how-to(with picture)when I get time. I hope this help

I did it... about 2 years ago and it sucked but looks good. then sold the car, he wrecked it, bought it back for $75 and the lenses are gone. GHEY

wow that saved me alot of time and possibly money. thank you.

Lost Here is some more info I found about sanding and sealing:Final grit for inside the lense should be nothing less than 2000 grit so you don't have to work at hard polishing out deep scratches. But using some 200 grit paper to finish removing the last bit of orange layer works good for quick removal, then just keep going up in grit until the scratches are gone from the previous grit. Oh yeah, suggestion... try not to get too agressive in sanding once the reflector is out as what is left of the lense is extremely thin and heavy sanding will only make it that much thinner and more prone to cracking if impacted w/ a rock or other road debris.

And sealing up the lamps... Clear rtv sealant or epoxy as I used for holding the lense on and then go back around the edge w/ the rtv sealant for that final water tight protection.

thanks con-man, ur a life saver, hopefuly il have these things done by next weekend
