Need some help/insight. Haven't really had a chance to look t it closely. Wondering if ayone else has dealt with this issue. 98 SVt Conotur has about 116K on the clock. It sits alot. I work from home.

It always fires up on the first turn. Drove it the other day, had no problems with drivability, but on the way home the check engine light came on. Yesterday I went out to use it and it won't start. It turns over very aggressively, unusually loud, but it's not firing up. Dosen't sound like it getting fuel and/or spark. Also, upon turning the key, I dn't hear the pump priming the injectors. Wondering about fuel pump. All engine parts are original except a few performance mods.,nothing internal. Hoping it's not time for a 3.0L.

Thanks for any help.

Could very well be the fuel pump or pump sock gone bad. I assume you havent pulled the code yet to see what the computer saw.

No other symptoms, however,i have not checked the cut off switch.... is it possible it triggered the switch for absoloutly no reason? I'll chck those tings out, thanks for the help.

Check the fuel pump relay. Put an Ohm meter to it and see what it says upon ign-on and start. Also check the Crank position trigger. It's a two-wire sensor plumbed into the block/timing cover.I believe one of the wires is purple on the 98's. Don't quote me on that but use for referance... (This is around the A/C compressor). Look for bad wiring. If the wiring there looks bad, give the harness a wiggle. Attempt to start again.
No CEL light? If there is, pull the code and post here.....
