Here are the two options I am looking at. I have always wanted a white SVT Contour. I have a black SVT with no engine, but its waiting for the supercharged 3L to be installed into it. I was thinking of painting it white, but to have it done right is $$$$ that I don't really want to spend.

So here are my options:

Keep the black SVT, replace the doors, hood, trunk, and front fenders with white ones, and have the car painted to match... including the SVT front, rear and side skirts, making it so I have a white SVT. I would completely gut the interior and ahve the interior painted so nobody could ever tell it was white, and again, $$$.

OR

Buy a white Post 98 Contour that had/has a V6, and replace it with a 3L and my supercharger, and put all my other suspension goodies, and interior into it, and jsut have the front, rear, and side skirts painted to match.

As I know it wont be a real SVT, it would be a white SVT look alike, and since a 3L, and supercharger are not SVT parts anyways, all I am really losing is the build number!

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I say paint it.
After buying a white car and putting all the engine mods in it, you may end up spending the same amount of money that you would have by just painting the black car.
But I could be wrong because sometimes my reading comprehension is teh suq.

Well, the white car, id only have to paint the front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts... and the black car it would have to be the entire car.

As far as the engine, I don;t have it yet, and the black car has no engine in the engine bay as it is... so it doesnt really matter!

I think factoring the cost of the white car i think you might be very close to the cost of just painting the black car white. I'm just guessing since I have no idea what a good paint job runs these days.

i'd get a white tour and do the swap. you know i've done this and if i could do it again i would've started w/the white tour.

you'd have to paint the whole car anyway...especially with white, the new paint will never match the misc. bits you bolt on there and they're gonna wind up doing the whole car anyway.

Forget the white! Stay with black. White has no class in car color.......Can you tell white is my least favorite color in a car......

Bob
P.S. Repaint black metallic that'll get some looks....
