You will have a flash (or a series of flashes) and then a pause and then more flash(es), that will be your code. Once you know the code, post it here and we can help you.

Another thing...does your cruise control and horn work?

Also, have your battery tested. My daughter's previous tour had an airbag code (not 12 either) and it was her battery getting ready to crap out. Not a bad idea for you to check the battery also Sparky. Might not be the problem but it's something that we can at least rule out. Autozone will do it for free.

horn works, havent tried CC, bought the car less than a month ago and i dont drive very far, its a 4 door soon to be family car for us. i also have a PI swapped 1998 mustang gt and a 2006 hayabusa.

Disconnect both battery terminals, wait 10 minutes or so, then clean connector at the sensor, dry it well. See if any wiring is chafed, broken or exposed to the ground (metal surface on car).
 
this is kinda old but
my light comes on and blinks never counted it but yea and my horn and cruise control doesnt work so what does that mean?
 
umm is that bad? or is that like a pita to fix?
i got my contour for a gran and there is alot of problems and i realy dont wanna give it back but if this is ganna cost me more money then the car is worth then wtf you know?
like today the accellerator got astock and it the breaks stoped workinf they got real stiff and i had to use my wight on the breaks i donno man
i think i got rapped badlyy
 
Clock spring is approx $60 for a brand new one. You remove the steering wheel to replace it. You can pick on up from the junk yard for probably dirt cheap.
 
ok so if i go to the jy
how do i know if the spring is any good? just hit the horn?
and could this be the only reason that my light is flashign and the horn . cc isnt working? could there be another reason
