For those interested, and that have either a cougar or a CSVT with the 3l Swap. We are setting up a dyno day forMarch
Edit: Date will be in March
This would be done @ Hi-Tech.

We need atleast 5 cars to get the Dyno Tuning at the great Price being offered by Bart @ HiTech.

Price: 375-400 Per Car.
Normal is 500

I think hes thinking in terms of tuning the 2.5 pcm's for 3 liter swaps. Something alot of cougars need since they dont have SVT PCMs....

My 2.5L is going to need a tune if 2.5L are invited...

The deal is for the 3L Cars.
Being that almost all the cars lined up are un modified other than the 3l swap, after the initial tune, none of the rest of the tunes will take as long.

I'm intrested, have a ADC tune now but have always wanted a personalized custom tune. Would me having a SCT chip (that could be reflashed) lower the price for me any?

mike, me and you need to get XCAL2's, and get chris to use his PRP to tune us well, soon as he learns the program well enough to be safe.

That's kind of lame, so everyone is getting pretty much the same tune??? I'll live with my mail order tune a bit longer....

Hi TRicker, I havn't ever seen your car! Where do you keep it hidden? In fact, I've never seen another SVTC around the area....

No.
ONce the first car is done, they will use that tune as a base line and finish custom tuning the rest.
It just goes easier when you have a real nice baseline to start from.

Say they spend 2.5 hours on the first car.
the second may only take 4 pulls and 30 mins.
1 baseline pull. Add the tune from the first car.
3 or 4 more pulls while tuning it.
We have 5 with a 6th possible.

I'm a bit confused by doing a "base" tune and then tweaking everyone else's tune off that. No two 3.0 are the same. Compression, injectors, cams, headers, let alone all of the smaller more subtle mods that when added up can mean quite a difference collectively.

All things considered, are those of us who get their tune after the first guy going to have just as good a tune as the guy who went first?

its how they make their money off of the same car. a base map will satisify most stock 3.0L build-ups. while tuning every car from scratch which could take forever, you create a map that can perform on most stock 3.0s, and modify for any variations in the builds.

your tune will not be the same.
No matter what.... the same motor in a diff car will generally behave slightly different.

The baseline will be done to establish a STARTING point for the following cars.
It just cuts a few hours of work out of each and every single car.

This is a good idea for you guys who have simliar 3L's but I don't see it saving them time if you get into different cams, intakes, headers, etc. because the base tune is going to be a rather poor starting point. That's just my opinion.

This event is less then 1 month away! Lets get an updated list of cars so we can get a price down; we are shooting for the 24th of March.
