Wheels for the Focus

I'm balking between a few selections, and I wanted your advice.... I have

a chance at two different sets of Ford Racing wheels, and the owners will accept trades for my stock wheels; or I could go to Town Fair Tire, and buy a totally different style of wheel. Here are the choices...

My thing is that I would really like to do something different with the wheels, but the Ford racing wheels would be much more cost effective.... Would the 5-spokes be worth the wait?
 
get some lowering springs first because your wheel gap is awful enough as is :laugh:

No one likes a guy with fresh rims and silly gap.

I wouldn't get the black ford racing wheels. I mostly like some contrast with cars/wheels...mostly.

why is lowering out of the question but rims/tires are not? Unnecessary money spent is unnecessary money spent, who cares what it is :laugh:
 
If you spend money, I'd go with the FSVT gunmetal or black. Not much a fan of the TFT wheel.

Or get the Contour back on the road :p
 
I agree with lowering...In fact I kinda regret going for all stock replacement on my suspension instead of lowering :shrug:

Focus wheel gap just sucks, to be honest.
 
I know people have done it often but I'm not sure I'd advocate lowering a daily driver. Driving the SVT this month has made me much more aware of little winter obstacles that a stock-height car would have cleared easily, like the ice chunk in my driveway that I ripped apart by driving over.

that's an older gen - they raised it even higher for the current gen (before killing it altogether in '08)..

And yes, my next car will likely be a little taller, but that's a while down the road.
No truck though. I'd flip the thing. :eek:
 
BTW, it's the warranty my Dad's worried about, not so much the money. I have 3 great jobs, and can support a habit like this as long as I get paid:laugh:

I appreciate the mod bug, but I've got to go with Kimmie on this. The car comes with wheels. They're round, they roll down the road. And comparatively, they're free. I'd go with them. Maybe we're old farts, but I think we're right. Working three jobs to pay for luxuries sounds like banality to me. I would opt for the freedom that comes with saving the dough. Now, if we'd been able to convince your folks to pop for a 1987 Turbo Coupe for a couple grand, then spending some money on the side for fun would be no big deal at all. But I would never advocate changing the stock wheels on a Turbo Coupe, for the record. :cool:
