The light with the little fan is coming on when I start the car. It stays on a couple of minutes & then goes off. Does it every time I start the car.
It also comes on occassionally when I am driving. Anybody had this happen?
 
It is better to add 50/50 coolant go half inch above max line or just go with full strength to half inch above max line. The advice given to me when I first started driving was to put "full strength this time and water next time when topping off coolant." That way it would eventually be 50/50 strength concentration. ;)

I just had this happen again. I know to add coolant but what makes it go down? Wouldn't this indicate a leak somewhere?
 
potentially, yes. maybe around the bottom of the radiator at the two lower corners (there is a rubber bushing there.. look for moisture).
 
depending on the last time the system was drained and filled it could have been a trapped air bubble that finally worked its way out.
