sad day indeed. me and imnotacop420 were cruising around today after putting the new alternator in his car. we pulled into the gas station and heard a horrible crushing noise. we get out of the car and found that his mirko picked up one of those metal covers that cover the holes in the ground for gas. he dragged that thing at least 5ft. the mirko was pulled underneath the car and the front bumper was bowed out real bad.after we got the mirko off, the metal gas cover was still shoved up inside his bumper. you all know how pristine malcolms car was. now onto the pics

this one you can see where the bumper was bowed out towards the bottom of the pic. the paint is badly cracked after it popped back in place

the grille even popped out

Ugh, painful. That's an expensive loss there, what with the paint job and skid plate, not to mention everything else it took out with it. Really glad I got rid of my setup while it was still repairable and worth something.

10min and a rubber mallet and the skid plate should be fine, hope I can salvage the mirko

How do you drive around C-town with a mirko??? Damn, last time I was down there visiting my cousin, I was cursing at the roads. It's not quite Detroit-bad, but it sure as hell ain't mirko-accessible country.

Does suck, indeed. :blackeye:

It's not normally out this time of year. We just put in a new alternator and took it for a quick drive.

Yep. Same reason I'd never use one on mine. Just makes it lower and a sharp lip to catch on things.

well not only that, but when the splitter got hooked, the skid plate made the whole deal more rigid. so the stress went to the next weakest point... the bumper. i'd rather have just a beat up mirko vs. a beat up mirko and a beat up bumper!

Is the gas station at fault for this? was the cover not correctly over the hole in the pavement?
It's hard to say.....there was just enough snow to cover the parking lot so I couldn't see the cover. I haven't had a problem driving over those in the past though.

I can't believe how expensive a new one is! I got mine new never mounted in the classifieds for $200.

Not sure if I should try to get it repaired or get a new one......I know some of the EGL crew is pretty handy with the 'glass. I think it looks worse cuz the skid plate has it all twisted. You should have seen us at the gas station, after I released the clips I had to back up so we could pull it out. It shot out from under the car right at shawn LOL!

Sorry to hear about that man!!! IN all honesty that is why i never run my mirko all the time. Only maybe 2-3 weeks out of the year. I'm really scared about breaking mine.:blackeye:

If you want...I can work out a deal with, if you want to pick my t-red up. pm me if you want. it got a fresh paint job and is sitting on my shelf.

Thanks for the offer harry! I would really like to repair the one I have, annie got it for me as a gift so if it's fixable it can still be 'hers' and then maybe she will stop calling me a retard and a dumbass LOL!

^^^ I'm with that guy. As bad as I want a skid plate, it seems easier to catch on the metal edge than just the mirko.... but each instance is different, so......

Well.. from a guy who's been through two of them, I love the way they look but sometimes it's just not worth it... I lost my last one in a puddle from a down-pour :( Hit an apparent low spot where a lot of water gathered and dragged it straight down under my car... yeah.. it was awesome </3
