RE-01R Closeout!!!

I want to so bad!!! I think I might. They won't be like the r compounds but they'll be closer than just about any other non-r compound. The price is great.

I wish they had those in 235/40-17's. I'm in need of tires... they didn't last very long @ 16psi

Race tires are typically wider than regular street tires. My hankook r compound tires have about the same footprint as the re01r's and they fit just fine. What's a little bulge? These tires have a stiffer sidewall which will allow you to run them at slightly lower psi. Start at 36psi in the front and 34 in the rear. Go to an autocross to see how that works out. The first fast turn you take with these and you'll love the difference compared to other street tires.

i thought 225s were the widest we could go on our cars... no?

I always advise against putting 235's on a 7 inch wheel. 225 is better in every way on a 7 inch wheel. If you have a 7.5 inch wheel, 235/40 is a better size.

The problem is that there weren't a whole lot of 17" wheels made in our bolt pattern that were 7.5" wide. I waited several years before I found a set of 17x7.5's in the classifieds... and I run 235/40-17 on them.

You can put 245s on with the right wheel and sometimes spacers are needed and the fenders may need to be rolled... though you've gotta roll the fenders even on 215s and lowering springs sometimes... depending on the car and the wheels.

Tires just got here! Looks like 3 10/06 tires and 1 09/06 tires if the warranty paperwork is right. The delivery guys said "about a grand?" and smiled when I told him just over $300.

Lol that's hilarious. My tires should be here Thursday or Friday. What sucks is I likely won't be home so I will have to go to the Fedex delivery center to pick them up

I had to pay a smidge more...$330 because the only place I could get them shipped from was Nevada. Still cheaper than almost any other tire, though
