remove the screw that holds on the gas cap and rotate the assembly counter clockwise, might need a little force ... then work it out and disconnect the vent line ...

its sad cause in a span of 4 months, my car has been zaino'd 3 times..the Z06 5 times..this is the result of the zaino

it makes it sooo much easier to clean the next time :)

I'm going to be experimenting in the Spring with a Zaino/Carnuba mix. I miss the depth of Carnuba but love the reflextion and protection of the Zaino. I figgure several layers of Zaino and a thin layer of Real Carnuba. We'll see.

I love Zaino but on the Lava Orange it looks to silvery, like it's covered in thin lexan. It seems like they have lost their antistatic quality as well. I seem to be collecting a ton of road dust along the back of the car that loves to be pushed around but does not like to leave the surface of the car.

i think i need that stuff.. :troutslap:

yeah try it out ... also go check out the site/guy I pointed you to before, great guy and knows his stuff ... hell I got him to try zaino because of how i was talking about it ... think what might of gotten him was two things, i showed him the thread of Cobra's and Goonz's car and mentioned how it doesn't build up and need to be removed ...

NECEG Detailing meet again? My car needs a wash badly and that would actually provide motivation to do so.

A proper detailing is not somthing that would be done at a meet. Its an all day project in my eyes really. For instance, when I detailed the M5 about 2 months ago, I started it in the morning cleaning off all the bugs and tar first, claybaring and etc. Washing and interior cleaning takes up the whole day..I then allow the car to dry naturally and then garage it for the night. It gets the wax over night, waxing IMO is not as important as the prep work before it. Having a car that has never been waxed before makes it even harder because when using Zaino on a car thats never been waxed, a clay bar is a MUST..After that its all smooth

I spent a weekend doing the Zaino system on my car. Came out perfect in the end. I don't think a meet would allow enough time.

This is what Zaino does to sh*tty paint:

yea,, i really need that stuff. im gunna have to wait till its warm out side aren't i?

Yeah, without plenty of sun and heat, it would take a very long time to do it right. Zaino is recommended to be done at 60 degrees or higher but can be done down to 45 degrees, just takes forever to dry.

In other words, wait till spring time.

Skip the overnight dry and buy an electric leaf blower that you use only for detailing and put some panty hose over the intake. Then dry away...

I washed and dried in 40 degree weather with no problem
I just like to wax through out the night cause its nice and cozy in the garage.

alright I am completely sold on Zaino now .... the other weekend I used some Z5 on the Mystique to try it out since I have had it awhile now ... the shine that came back was  , now it really didn't remove any of the scratches or swirl marks but in certain like it did hide them ... anyway this monring it was raining ... the water was beading on the hood while on the highway at 70 MPH  now I am use to it just streaking off but this time the hood looked dry and the water that was on it beaded up and was flowing off as beads .... after the rain stopped the car also dryed off pretty fast ....

so yeah I am sold ... also so if my father friend that details (www.advancedautopolishing.com) he said it made his Lincoln even better then it already was ... said he wouldn't use it to detail beacause it is fairly expensive but he is sold on using it for his cars ... now he didn't agree with using down on the car first ... but then again his cars wouldn't need it ... he also said he wasn't happy with customer service when he called but I think maybe that was because it was outside of the script that customer service have ... either way he likes it ...
