hey, I tried searching about this. I've talked about it before, but never really came to a conclusion... just kind of let it go..

When I shift at higher RPMs, such as.. um, merging onto the highway very fast, ... or racing on a track......

The car will squeak at mid to completed shift. not a very loud belt sound, but just a quiet little "chirp" (and no, it's not the tires)

Someone said something about a throw out bearing.. or something like that.. not really sure..

its the serp belt/tensioner. VERY COMMON on nearly ALL MTX duratec Contours

squeaking....

squeaking....

mine does the same thing!!! what's the remedy?? or is nothing worth worrying about??

well not knowing if it is doing more harm everytime I hear it.. if its not a big deal then i wont worry about it anymore... it just sounds like when it squeaks something might be getting more worn out.

I know that someone has asked about the high pitch whistling before.. the had said that they have the KKM with the adapter.. I have that same set up and I believe that the whistle comes from the space between the adapter and the MAF .. i had said that i love that sound too..
