Oil filter after drips?

Anyone else get a few annoying drips down the road after changing the filter? I checked for leaks after the oil change and came on home only to find a drip in the parking lot later. I'll assume more oil got on the exhaust right there than I thought but I'll be keeping an eye on it to make sure its not a daily drip now.

I would assume you just had some oil left up there from when you pulled your filter off.

Thats my assumption as well. I watched the car idle for probably 5 minutes so one would think if it was gonna drip it would have dripped right then. I'm glad I wont have to worry about that ever again. Even though this filter is in a better spot than the standard 4 cyl spot up under the intake manifold it was still a little messy.

You may want to consider wrapping the exhaust under the oil filter with aluminum foil next time before you remove the oil filter. Just remove and throw the aluminum foil after you have reinstalled the new oil filter.

A good tip but thankfully I'll never be taking a filter off that location again thanks to my remote filter.
