I'd be careful on that one... Black and white pictures are tricky... In fact, there was a B&W pic that had actually won a spot this year but could not be used because the full resolution pic was far too grainy.

And a message to that person: I tried whatever I could to turn the color version into a useable B&W pic but unfortunately it just wouldn't look right. Given more time, it might have been possible but the fast approaching deadline (and finals week for me) meant that I couldn't. Sorrry.

This perticular pic i have in color as well. Not to mention its in a better resolution than the one that made it in this year.

Ask ray or Alias, i sent them both hi-res versions. I just love that pic to much, something about the sheets or w/e blowing in the wind makes it look very good.

i want to see that in color, post it up, sweet shot!

Here's an example of a cool shot, but terrible quality issues. [Even though uploading it made it a bit worse, the hi-res version was still unusable] Just things to consider when submitting.

funny I got the email saying it shipped like three days ago but the tracking information has not been updated

i ordered one and once my car comes out of the bodyshop with a fresh paint job, I'm going out with the cam and snap some shots of it by the falls or something.

I'll have to check tomorrow... I got an email from cafepress saying that they were under a distributed denial of service attack. So I can't access the site.
This is also just a heads up for anyone trying to order, you may be better off trying tomorrow if it keeps timing out.

Got it today and it looks great...except for one thing. The December calendar page is upside down...anyone else have this problem besides me?

In response to the resolution requirements, Cafepress must have upped their printing resolution since 2004. Their recommendation for picture resolutions for the calendar is 2300 x 1800 at 200 DPI only about 2 or 3 full size images actually made this requirement. I stretched each pic individually to fit on the 2300 x 1800 200dpi template and made the decision based on what I saw. If it was too pixelated, and some were, I had to let them go. I'm sorry to whoever got eliminated in this manner but there were resolution requirements for a reason.

And just to put this to rest, there was a rule in the picture submission thread saying that the full resolution pics must be at least 1800 x 1350, which the picture in question wasn't.

Since I didn't make it this year, I figured I'll make up my own calender:rolleyes: . I submitted my pictures to photobucket, and in order to use them, they were automatically reduced in size. This is with the same camera that I used for the 05 and 06 calenders. So now I know what to do.....I got a new camera. Looks like that's the answer for several of us. Since I'm not a photo guru, I'll ask my question, I went from a 3.2 megapixel to a 6.1 megapixel. Should that be enough or do I have to spend more?

Great pictures, super calender and best of luck for next year.

i use to have a 5.1 which was 2600x1900
now i use a 7.2 which is 3000x2300
so a 6.1 should do the trick

Hey, man

a decent 6mp+ should be able to easily meet those requirements. Also, as for photobucket: it reduced your calendar submissions, but as long as you sent the high resolutions (if requested) as an attachment and not through a hosting site, then you wouldn't worry about the high-res.
